At the advice of our realtor, we originally hired Dan Chapleski with True North Inspections to inspect a home that we had put an offer on. Dan was incredibly professional and thorough. We decided to pull out of our real estate contract due to several items that came up during the home inspection that weren't visible during our initial walk-throughs. We were so relieved that we hadn't purchased the home ... There were major hidden issues that would have been harmful to our family's health down the road. After we found another home, Dan wasn't available in the time frame that we wanted him, so we went with another home inspector. This other inspector charged less and was available sooner, so we hired him. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with his service. We felt he was not nearly as thorough as Dan was. Also, after we moved in, we found several items that he had missed, most very obvious, and we still wonder what else he may have missed that we just haven't found out about yet. We even thought about hiring Dan with True North to do a second inspection on our current home in order to uncover any issues that still may need to be addressed. Our realtor was present for both inspections, and he agrees that Dan did a much more thorough inspection than the other home inspector who is well known in the area. My wife and I both feel that it would have been well worth the additional cost for Dan with True North to inspect our home. We are very sorry we did not use him the second time. The "bad" wiring was already showing signs of stress from the heat generated by being too small. Who knows the damage that could have been caused from the improper wiring and lack of a good ground.
